Chief Electronics and Electrical Technical Manager, in the Department of Engineering
Ian is a highly experienced electronics and electrical engineer, the Technical Manager in Electronic and electrical Workshops and laboratories, where he manages a team of engineers
providing a central service to the teaching and research activities throughout the Department of Engineering.
Ian is responsible for the over seeing of staffs design, build, implementation and maintainance of specialist purpose teaching,research and communications equipment. and is an active member of the Centre for Communications Systems
Ian is an active member of the Higher Education and Technician Education Development organisation. His role involves providing expert advice and mentoring for both students and technicians, providing instruction and supervision, ensuring the delivery of high quality projects.
Ian is a log term active member of the Durham University Technical Managers Network, and an active member of the Departmental Health and Safety Committee.
