New research appointments
(19 May 2007)
In September 2007 Professor Francis Watson (formerly of Aberdeen University) and Dr Marcus Pound (formerly of Bristol University) will be coming to Durham as full-time research staff.
Professor Watson, an internationally respected New Testament scholar, has been appointed to a new Research Professorship, helping to cement Durham's position in the front rank of Biblical studies worldwide. Dr Pound, whose research is on the relationship between theology and psychoanalysis, will be taking up a three-year Research Fellowship in Catholic studies, to build up the planned Centre for Catholic Studies. At the end of the three-year term he will be appointed to a permanent lectureship in Catholic Studies.
