History
The society was started at the beginning of the academic year 2002/2003.
Since then it has grown in size and has put on a variety of
shows, highlights of the 2007/2008 year include performing at
the Durham Drama Festival and a college tour of across Durham
during the post-exam period.
During 2008/2009
the society grew further with many new members, in August
2009 the society made its first visit to the Edinburgh Fringe
festival, with ShellShock! performing long form improvised comedy
called VaryTales, inspired by Fairy Tales. The show was a remarkable
success for a debut show, with Five sell out shows and ShellShock!
being featured in the Three Weeks Fringe preview paper.
In 2010 the society returned to the Fringe with the new
long form Adventure based show : To Be Continued! the show was down as one of the "Top 5 Improv acts at the Fringe" - The List. It achieved good success with the audiences, and the Society is currently preparing its 2011 Edinburgh Fringe Show, an Improvised Spy Comedy called "Mission: Suggestible".
