From live images of cell division, through tracking transfers of sub-cellular particles, to investigating the filaments between cells, images of microscopic biological components and processes are key to improving our understanding of the ways organisms function. This contributes to work on disease control and on food security: both fundamental factors in improving resilience of societies around the world.
