Combined Honours

Entry Requirements

You must satisfy our general University entry requirements. In addition, please note the following points:

  • A levels: our standard A level offer is A*AA.
  • Scottish Advanced Highers: we normally ask for A1(in a specified subject) and A A.
  • International Baccalaureate: we normally ask for 38 points (666 at higher level)
  • Subject specific requirements:
    • If you wish to study English, French, German, History, or Music within Combined Honours, you will need to secure an A grade at A level or equivalent in the relevant subject.
    • It is also possible to study Spanish, Arabic, Italian or Russian from beginners level, though you will still need to have an A level or equivalent in another modern foreign language.
    • To study Economics you will need grade A in AS level, or equivalent, in Mathematics.
    • To study Mathematics you will need grade A  in A level Mathematics or equivalent and AS level, or equivalent in Further Mathematics
  • Other qualifications: we welcome students with other qualifications equivalent to our standard entry requirements. Please contact us for further details.
  • We welcome applications from international students, mature students and students who have non-standard qualifications.
  • We will be pleased to consider your application if you wish to defer entry for a year but note that you will need to meet the entry criteria for your proposed year of entry.
