The Woodplayers

The Woodplayers are Collingwood's drama society. Every year we put on a play (or two shorter ones) in the first term, a musical (in coordination with college Arts Committee) in the second term, and a further play plus a Shakespeare in the summer term. The summer plays are traditionally held outside in the college's amphitheatre-style turning circle (weather permitting!).

We are one of Durham's fastest growing theatre groups with participation in shows increasing significantly each year. The number of shows we put on each year has grown from 2 to 5 in just four years and we are receiving increasingly positive reviews from university publications.
