Alumni

As the Department looks towards celebrating its 50th anniversary in its current building, and following a number of successful reunion events with specific groups of alumni, we are looking towards reconnecting with former staff and students, to keep them informed of exciting ongoing research and to enable them to get in touch with former friends and colleagues.

The main focus of our 50th anniversary celebrations will be a weekend of "science and friendship" on 23 and 24 September 2011. The weekend will include scientific talks, family-friendly demonstrations and activities, and many opportunities to catch up and reminisce with former friends, colleagues and staff.

We are developing an Alumni web page http://chemistry-alumni.dur.ac.uk/ and a wiki page, located at http://chemistry-alumni.dur.ac.uk/wiki/  where people are encouraged to share memories and photographs to build up a documented history of the Department.

We have started a Facebook group called Department of Chemistry, Durham University.
