Year 4
MAnth Anthropology Research Project
The aim of this 100-credit module is to give MAnth (Health and Well-Being) students an opportunity to carry out a significant piece of fieldwork or lab-based research on a subject within the sub-discipline of either medical or biological anthropology and to analyse and present that research effectively with a clear focus on employability after graduation. The module is assessed by one 25,000 word research report. Your project might be oriented either towards future employment or post-graduate research. You will be supervised by two members of staff throughout your Research Project and will be expected to discuss your progress at regular intervals.
Anthropology and Professional Practice
This module provides students with an opportunity to reflect on strategies for applying anthropological knowledge in future research and work environments. The module consists of three intensive workshops (each delivered during the course of a day) in which you will be able to complement research activities being undertaken in the MAnth (Health and Well-Being) with structured sessions on key employability issues and practical skills. You will also have the opportunity to discuss with staff issues relating to the application of anthropological skills and knowledge to a variety of working environments, to the process of grant application and to the field of consultancy.
