Ideal volunteer numbers: See tasks below

When would the task completing: National Volunteer Week or when appropriate for an individual or department

A. Clearing out the old dormitory at Ushaw

6+ volunteers - the more the easier it will be.

full or half day whatever you can offer, half is better than none.

The work would involve clearing the broken furniture and accumulated years of oddities out of the dormitory on the second floor of Ushaw. It will involve physical work, carrying clearing furniture, boxes etc. We do have trolleys and a goods lift but it's all a bit of a distance, that's why the more the easier it will be.

B. Updating site plans

This could be done in two parts by one or different people.

One is on site measuring and identifying service runs

secondly is transferring the information onto ACAD plans which would be desk based.

The work would involve 1-2 people with these skills at a time that suits. Time could be from 3 hours to a day, depending on how much time someone is able to give. Again getting some done is better than nothing.

c. Site level measurement surveys

We are looking for a volunteer who would be able to take measured levels of the ground leading to our Music Education Retreat Centre that we are in the process of creating. We would like to make an accessible entrance here and need a survey to help design this.

This activity has been CANCELLED due to low interest. Please contact the SVO Team if you would like more information on microvolunteering -

This will be re-arranged soon.
