Open Days are the best way for you to find out about our teaching excellence, explore our award-winning facilities, and experience our distinctive college communities. 

Our Open Days take place in June and September. If you haven't already, you can view our upcoming events and book your place or register your interest. 

 You can discover the range of support  services we offer to our students before you submit your application, ensuring you make the right decision for you.

College Life

At Durham, we think our Collegiate system allows you to explore and reach your full potential. College life is one side of your experience at Durham and goes hand in hand with your Academic Life.

All of our student accommodation is located within one of our 16 Undergraduate Colleges.  As a student you become a member of a college, so as an applicant you can make a college preference. Please take a look at the Undergraduate Colleges Guide to get a feel for each college as it will provide an introduction to the collegiate system here at Durham University, as well as an overview of each of our undergraduate colleges.  You can use our interactive map to view college locations or download the College Location Map to give you an idea of where each of our Colleges are located.

Academic Life

Whether you are deciding to do a single or joint honours programme, or combining multiple subjects through Natural Sciences, Liberal Arts or the Combined Honours in Social Sciences the choices are varied at Durham.  So making sure the degree you choose is the right one for you is very important.  From assessment methods to content make sure you know exactly what you are applying for!  Search for a degree using Find a Course to make sure we offer the degree you are interested in.

Student Life

Being a student is about so much more than studying. It's your opportunity to grow as a person, learn new skills, and develop your personal qualities. So, if you are interested, take a look at the things you can get involved in as a student: explore or continue your sporting passion, join a theatre production, create a music ensemble or volunteer in some of our 50+ volunteering projects!
