Supporting your studies

When you join Durham University you will find plenty of facilities to complement, enhance and support your studies. We have a continual programme of investment in facilities, which in recent years has seen major developments to lecture theatres, seminar rooms and subject specific facilities such as science laboratories, state-of-the-art equipment and dedicated libraries.

At both Durham City and Queen's Campus we have an outstanding range of resources for students including well-stocked libraries and IT services, with Wi-Fi available across both campuses and in colleges. You will benefit from access to award-winning museums, where you can utilise historical collections to support your studies and research.

If you are looking to learn another language to prepare for study abroad, develop skills which will help with your degree studies, enhance your employment prospects, or just for fun, we can help develop your foreign language skills. We offer a range of courses from Arabic and Chinese to Spanish, either credit bearing or extra-curricular.

At Durham University we don’t just offer academic support. We care about your personal wellbeing and we have developed a range of services to help you.

From advice for disabled students, staying safe on campus to faith support we can provide you with all the support you need.

"The library is a calm and productive working environment and it is full of useful tools, whether it is essential course material or extra reading you require,

The online resources are invaluable and you can access the catalogue from anywhere – then you can pick up the book you need."
