How do I accept my place?

After, we have confirmed on UCAS Track that you have been accepted, it is very important that let us know that you are accepting your place by completing our AS12 webform.

You will receive confirmation of the data you have submitted through the webform. If any of the details are incorrect, please follow the instructions on the reply you received.

Please note, for applicants who are Unconditional Firm with us (UFA) prior to 24th July, please confirm you are accepting your place by 31st July 2017. For applicants who become Unconditional Firm with us after that date, please confirm you are accepting your place within 7 days. If we do not receive your acceptance within this time, we will assume that you no longer wish to take up your place with us. This includes any deferred applications for 2018 entry

Please note: We will be unable to process you CAS (see below) for your visa until we have received your final acceptance (AS12) email.

It can take up to a week for us to process your AS12. Once we have processed your AS12 you will receive an email which confirms that your student record has been created.

How do I decline my place?

It is important that once you have received your Confirmation Letter (AS12) via UCAS Track, you let us know that you no longer wish to take up your place by completing our AS12 webform. You will need to confirm if you wish to withdraw from UCAS entirely this admissions cycle, or if you wish to be released into Clearing.

You will receive confirmation of the data you have submitted through the webform. If any of the details are incorrect, please follow the instructions on the reply you received.

Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies (CAS)

To apply for a new Tier 4 Student visa, you must have a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) issued by Durham University.

Once you have accepted a final unconditional offer for your programme, you will be sent a pre-CAS email asking you to confirm that your details are correct.

Once you have replied to the pre-CAS email, the Admissions team will process your CAS and email it to you as soon as it is ready.

You must not book a visa appointment until you have your CAS or your pre-CAS as we cannot prioritise the issuing of CAS to meet appointments booked before the Pre-CAS is issued.

Further information about your CAS can be found here. If you need to update the Admissions team, please contact
