Technician Commitment

James Dyson

I’m the Departmental Superintendent for the Department of Earth Sciences. I manage a small team of technicians which carry out technical support for the department including thin section production and isotope analysis. I manage facility related issues, working closely with the Estates and Facilities Department and external contractors.

I joined the department in 2014 after working as a senior technician at Newcastle University for 7 years. I became a registered scientist (RSci) with the Royal Society of Chemistry in 2014. I have maintained this registration and my CPD and now have become an assessor for RTech and RSci applications for the Royal Society of Chemistry.
