Two new administrative posts are available as part of a Templeton Religion Trust funded project 'Equipping Christians Leadership in an Age of Science' (ECLAS) which involves a partnership between Durham University, York University and the Mission and Public Affairs Division of the Church of England. These are appointments at St John’s College in Durham University.
The ECLAS project seeks to transform the quality and increase levels of serious engagement with science amongst Christians in England, by focusing attention on the role of senior church leaders in shaping church leadership in an age of science. It involves academic research, conferences, projects such as Scientists in Congregations and Science for Seminaries and work on the role of science-engaged theology in mission and public affairs.

A three year post-doctoral position is available to work with Revd Professor David Wilkinson, and as part of a Durham and York University-based, Templeton Religion Trust funded project 'Equipping Christians Leadership in an Age of Science' (ECLAS). This is an appointment at St John’s College in Durham University.
The ECLAS project seeks to transform the quality and increase the level of serious engagement with science amongst Christians in England, by focusing attention on the role of senior church leaders in shaping church leadership in an age of science. It involves academic research, conferences, projects such as Scientists in Congregations and Science for Seminaries and work on the role of science engaged theology in mission and public affairs.
This PDRA post, based in Durham, will be responsible for quantitative and qualitative research of attitudes to science among church leaders, primarily in the UK but also a smaller sample in the US.

A three year post-doctoral position is available to work with Revd Dr Kathryn Pritchard at the Mission and Public Affairs Division of the Church of England, and as part of a Durham and York University-based, Templeton Religion Trust funded project 'Equipping Christians Leadership in an Age of Science' (ECLAS). This is an appointment of St John’s College in Durham University.
The ECLAS project seeks to transform the quality and increase the level of serious engagement with science amongst Christians in England, by focusing attention on the role of senior church leaders in shaping church leadership in an age of science. It involves academic research, conferences, projects such as Scientists in Congregations and Science for Seminaries and work on the role of science engaged theology in mission and public affairs.
This PDRA post, based in London, will be responsible for helping to resource and contribute to thinking about and analyzing active Church policy engagement. This will involve engaging in a theologically framed action research case study in the practice of public policy related scientific discourse by Mission and Public Affairs in partnership with pivotal Church of England leaders.
