Grant success

(9 June 2020)

We would like to congratulate Jutta Bakonyi (Durham Global Security Institute) and our former colleague May Darwich (Department of Political Science and International Studies, University of Birmingham) on being awarded a two-year Carnegie Cooperation Grant on "Port Infrastructures and International Politics: From the Arabian Gulf to the Horn of Africa."

The project explores the materialization of international relations between the Arabian Gulf and the Horn of Africa. It looks into the sea corridor at the Gulf of Aden and into Gulf investments in port infrastructures in three cities - Bosasso (Somalia), Berbera (Somaliland) and Djibouti (Djibouti). It also analyses the effect of these infrastructures on everyday (urban) lives.
