Leisure or teleworking? Unveiled during a fairly complex virtual event (no physical conference, or even live broadcast, but a platform with multiple entries, very secure and accessible for a few days to the press) the novelties of the 2021 re-entry of the world leader Samsung are available along two very distinct axes. The brand’s two foldable smartphones, presented at the very end of a short video, attest to this:

On the one hand, the latest version of the brand’s super foldable smartphone and showcase: the Galaxy Z Fold3, soberly cut for the nomadic worker that we do not fail to be, a device available in very “office” tones and matte finish with the goal, often repeated, of “maximizing” our productivity. And on the other hand, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 5G with its lavender, olive, cream, black colors… and even pink, white and gray via the brand’s website. A pretty square look with a very iconic clamshell, with the possibility of matching its front screen to your watch. In short, a decidedly “fun” device for our leisure time.

Solid and styluses

For the mobile worker … the Galaxy Z Fold 3, with stylus holder

The return of the “Totally spies” flip phone

That said, both have it under the hood and are even enriched with extended features. This proves – for those who still doubt it – that the foldable has found its audience and that the pioneer of the genre intends to remain the leader in this market. It should therefore be noted that the main screen of both devices is equipped with a new protective film (it seems) 80% more resistant than on the old models and that this Z series is for the first time certified IPX8, the index le higher in waterproofing. When we remember Samsung’s original setbacks with the first model of its kind, we suspect that this certification sounds like revenge.

Oppo X: how its roll-up screen could upset smartphone reading

Question solidity, always, the new foldables are equipped for the outside of a new material called “Armor Aluminum”, that is to say “The hardest material ever used on a smartphone” and a “gorilla glass victus” glass 50% more resistant than the old one. The whole thing, drum roll, without weighing down the cam since the Z Fold3 gains in passing 11 grams of lightness.

As expected, lower prices at the rendezvous

For these beautiful machines to work, they obviously have a processor up to the task: a Snapdragon 888, engraved at 5 nanometers and 5G compatible. The two devices, a strong point for gamers and video, have a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Finally, for those who regret the abandonment by the manufacturer of the Note range, the Korean makes the Z Fold3 compatible with two options of styli, including a “pro” to… stay productive.

Microsoft’s Surface Duo is finally marketed in France: what should we think of this dual-screen smartphone?

We know that our productivity comes at a price. Yet had been mentioned here and there on the Web of significant price reductions. Bingo! The Galaxy Z Fold3 is priced at 1,599 euros while its half-brother, the Z Flip3, is sold at 1,049 euros. For the record, the Galaxy Z Fold2 was launched at 2,020 euros in Europe. We can obviously not speak of a democratization of the collapsible machine, but the effort is there.

A “feel good” watch

Another expectation of aficionados of the Korean brand, the rise of the models of its connected watch is also at the rendezvous. Samsung even started this “Unpacked 2021” event with the wrist by presenting the Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Watch4 Classic. Always with this desire to distinguish between leisure and work style. On the program, a customizable screen “In all shades” and a look « feel good » for the first model, sobriety and austerity for the second. But we will especially note, in addition to the proposal of more than a hundred fitness exercises, an increase in power of this series in terms of health and well-being.

With these four main announcements, which for the most part had already filtered on certain sites, the Korean hardly surprises but seems to build a solid base around devices which many, at the time of their release, were not expensive. In addition, it is at the price level that an undeniable effort is made, especially at the top of the range. The conquest of the market, in all segments, by the Chinese Xiaomi, which has made itself known for its ultra-competitive prices and is now closely behind the Korean giant, is undoubtedly not unrelated to it.

Sixteen years to the day after Katrina passed, another extremely powerful hurricane hit Louisiana on Sunday, August 29. Shortly before noon, Ida, Category 4, made landfall near Port Fourchon, south of New Orleans, with winds reaching 240 km / h. It has since lost intensity to fall back to category 1 on the Saffir-Simpson scale – which has 5 -, according to the US meteorological services, and was to continue its course north-east on Monday.

At least one was killed in his passage, with a man killed in Prairieville, southeast of Baton Rouge, after a tree fell on his house. Images from the United States show deserted streets, swept by particularly violent gusts of wind and heavy rains. Buildings have had their roofs ripped off and in some places the course of the Mississippi River has even partially reversed. New Orleans is also completely without electricity, with nearly a million homes being without power across Louisiana. Flash flood risk alerts have been issued in several towns.

While the damage could turn out to be catastrophic, its true extent is still impossible to assess. The mayor of Jean Lafitte said his village had been “Totally devastated », And that the help could not reach a few hundred people stuck in their homes. “We have already suffered from floods. We have already suffered storms. But I have never seen water like this in my life ”, Tim Kerner told the American channel CNN. “There is no doubt that the next few days and weeks will be extremely difficult. Once the hurricane has passed, you must prepare to stay in the shelter where you are for at least seventy-two hours ”, also warned the governor of Louisiana, John Bel Edwards.

By gaining in intensity very quickly, Ida left only a little time for the populations to take shelter. New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell was unable to order a mandatory evacuation and simply urged residents to voluntarily leave. Those who remained were asked to take a seat inside and follow the instructions of the authorities.

Critical situation in hospitals

In the parish of Lafourche, near where Ida made landfall, several hospitals reported extensive damage to their roofs. The situation could be particularly critical in hospitals, whose services are full due to Covid-19. Louisiana, where the number of people vaccinated remains low, has nearly 2,700 hospital patients, and the number of new cases daily has skyrocketed with the Delta variant.

View of the city of Marseille – Illustrative image – dr

The last few weeks have once again been trying for the city of Marseille. During a press conference given last week, the public prosecutor Dominique Laurens deplored “an explosion” in the number of settlements, mostly related to drug trafficking, in the space of only “two months” . Since the beginning of the year, 15 deaths have indeed been recorded in the Marseille city.

Faced with this untenable situation, the local authorities once again asked the executive to act quickly and strongly. A call that seems to have been heard since this week, from Wednesday to Friday, Emmanuel Macron will go in person to Marseille in order to present in detail a large plan for the city, of which BFMTV is able to reveal the main axes to you on Monday: education, urban renewal and transport.

In general, this important plan is part of the idea that the city will become, in the years to come, “a capital of the Mediterranean.” This is what affirmed Emmanuel Macron during an interview with the media last May Zadig: the Head of State estimated that “the conditions for the possibility of a reinvention of the place and a reappropriation are there”, with “an extraordinary creativity, a striking youth, a kind of power”.

“This is not yet another plan for Marseille as some say” but “a gigantic plan, unheard of for Marseille”, tells us the entourage of Benoit Payan. Here are the highlights.

• No major policy announcement

The socialist mayor of Marseille, who has been working on this file since March, had asked “for means for the police and the justice system.” If the visit of the Head of State should include a sequence devoted to security, with a visit to the northern districts, Emmanuel Macron should not make a major announcement on the number of police officers. Gérald Darmanin has already promised at the beginning of the year 300 additional police officers over 3 years.

“It is necessary the police in uniform. But in Marseille beyond the petty crime that poisons life, we must investigate, strengthen the judicial police. We need more magistrates”, indicates to BFMTV a source who participated in the negotiations with Paris. “It is not a safety trip, because an ambition for Marseille is much broader than that”, underlines support from the Head of State.

• The renovation of hundreds of schools

The first part of Emmanuel Macron’s plan should focus on education, with a plan to revovate hundreds of schools: of the 500 in the city, nearly 200 are in an advanced state of disrepair. It is “a global approach which starts from the school”, evokes with BFMTV an interlocutor of the Head of State.

“Several hundred million euros for the renovation of Marseille schools, it will saturate order books for several years”, rejoices a local source. “It will create thousands of jobs in economic terms for the city.”

• Work in the northern districts, but not only

The second part of the plan concerns urban renewal. If the northern districts should logically be targeted by this work, the city center will not be forgotten. In the sights of the local authorities, the dilapidated buildings after the deadly collapses of the rue d’Aubagne.

“The old habitat of the city center, moth, Gruyère, unworthy, needs a different requalification than the degraded buildings of the northern districts”, indicates the entourage of the mayor of Marseille. “The weight of the President of the Republic has been more than determining. With his support, something has been released at Bercy.”

• A mobility plan, with increased transport

The third part of the plan tackles transport in the city, two and a half times the size of Paris and five times the size of Lyon. Again, the current system is limited and more than aging. “We only have two metro lines. It was Gaston Defferre who inaugurated them in the 1970s,” recalls Benoît Payan.

The new network must weave a more complete network with an extension of metro and tram lines, the replacement of obsolete metro trains, the development of the bus network and cycle paths. The metropolis, in charge of the file, has a plan of 3.9 billion euros and is waiting for the president to announce the amount of the state contribution. “We hope to have the maximum”, indicates the entourage of the president LR of the metropolis, Martine Vassal.

Yesterday evening, the Paris-Saint-Germain of Lionel Messi met the Stade de Reims to close the fourth day of Ligue 1. If the meeting offered beautiful moments of football with two nice goals from Kylian Mbappé, the attention of observers was elsewhere. In the stands as at home, everyone was waiting for La Pulga to plant its spikes in the lawn of the Auguste-Delaune stadium in Reims. Lionel Messi, freshly landed at PSG after an entire career spent at FC Barcelona, indeed wore for the first time other colors than that of the Catalan club. For this first warm-up, started in the 66th minute, the Argentinian did not force and did not really stand out. But, his very presence was enough to constitute an event and to make this match memorable.

At the end of the match, viewers and spectators were able to witness the extent of the legend of this sacred football monster when Reims goalkeeper Predrag Rajković came to ask the Argentine striker something very special. The Serbian international wanted to take a photo of his young son in the arms of Lionel Messi. The latter readily accepted. By noting the distracted face and the shifty gaze of the toddler in the photo, surely too young to understand what is happening, we easily conclude that the initiative of the Serbian footballer was less motivated by the desire to please his son. only by his own admiration and fanaticism for the Argentinean. The photo did not fail to touch Internet users when it was broadcast by the Twitter account. ESPN Argentina, further illustrating the Messi “fever” across the world. Problem, however: many people, including some supporters of the Stade de Reims, have expressed their dissatisfaction. For them, this photo is an affront to their club, an admission of inferiority and should not be on a football field. Some have tried to temper this anger by indicating that they understand that Predrag Rajković takes advantage of this meeting with one of the best footballers of all time to immortalize a unique moment. It will surely not be the same when PSG travel to Marseille or Lyon …

“L’Opéra” (French competition): an ultra-realistic approach to the dance world

In

Despite the brevity of his stint at the Paris Opera, Benjamin Millepied must be recognized for having contributed to dusting off the institution’s image, even giving it a certain trendiness. Opera, which features a fallen star dancer (Ariane Labed) and a young “supernumerary” – hired for a season – black (Suzy Bemba), badly received by her new colleagues, could be one of the welcome consequences. And on this potentially perilous path – Darren Aronofsky having largely occupied the field with Black Swan -, the creation of Cécile Ducrocq and Benjamin Adam stands out with an ultra-realistic approach to this microcosm, a miniature reproduction of society and its injustices. “The Last Socialist Artefact” (international panorama): a dark comedy about socialism in the Balkans

We will not immediately understand what brought Oleg and Nikola, who came from Zagreb, to this small provincial town. During the introductory “road trip”, it is about an old factory, a legendary but untraceable engineer and an unreachable investor … The object of their quest is in fact a forgotten factory, which once manufactured turbines. and that the two men intend to restart in order to restore a little luster to a region now devastated. Adapted from the novel The Turbines of the Titanic, by Robert Perisic, by Ankica Juric Tilic, The Last Socialist Artefact is a black comedy on the imagination that socialism continues to carry in this part of the Balkans. Its superbly mastered production and endearing actors make it a discovery not to be missed. A. F.

One of the tangible benefits of TikTok’s fame is apparently the opportunity to become a movie celebrity. That’s why a social media celebrity, whatever that means, named Addison Rae was given one of the lead roles in the new movie He’s All That, the Netflix remake of the 1999 teen classic She’s All That. (which starred Freddie Prinze Jr. and Rachael Leigh Cook).

If you haven’t streamed it yet, here’s how Netflix describes this remake. The central character is Rae’s “teen social media influencer” Padgett Sawyer. After a breakup in front of the camera that went viral, she embarked on “a risky bet to save her reputation.” She swears she can turn scruffy anti-social Cameron into prom king material. But things get complicated when she falls in love with him IRL.

Something that is not complicated to understand? The hard blow this film – one of many movies and TV shows released by Netflix in August – took. From critics and the public.

As of this writing, He’s All That has an audience score of 30% on Rotten Tomatoes. Based on over 250 user reviews. In terms of response from critics, it’s a similar story. A score of 33% there, based on 40 reviews so far. Like this one, from our sister publication Variety, which laments the film as follows: “All things considered, the mind-numbing story seems as outdated as the slang phrase ‘All That’.

The burns don’t get much stronger, however, than that of the Washington Post: “In the end, it’s all, it’s not all of it – not even a little bit of that.” Indeed, Rotten Tomatoes’ “Critics Consensus” summary describes the film as being “hampered” by a lack of chemistry between the protagonists. And is short in many ways compared to the original that inspired it.

Famous, to be famous

You could argue that the negative response this movie elicited could be some sort of product of people’s growing frustration with the Kardashian nature of internet-based celebrity. Many of today’s biggest celebrities are famous for little more than… being famous. A smelly feedback loop, the product of which is a strange alchemy of social media. Turn people into the kind of star with a status that you used to do something remarkable to achieve.

Rae herself is 20 years old and has 83 million followers on TikTok. An audience that she gathered to essentially dance and be pretty. This has taken her to opportunities like the one she recently got at a UFC event. Where she got the chance to do red carpet interviews. And where she also seemed to revel in how little qualification she had to be there.

“How does every influencer have no self-awareness,” one of the top replies to this tweet read.

The megalomaniac singer’s 10th album was released by surprise this weekend. For this nearly two-hour record combining avant-garde rap, religious felicity and intimate life, the artist has not changed his mind. Attempt to summarize the project in five points.

All friends present

Ariana Grande, Jay-Z, The Weeknd, Travis Scott… As is often the case on Kanye West’s albums, the list of weighty guests is dizzy, even if it means sometimes giving the impression that it leaves a part of the work to others. But their presence is above all the symptom of a confused and provocative spirit, which does not bother with any compromise. Donda welcomes the presence of Marilyn Manson (under charges of sexual assault, and even rape), Chris Brown (convicted of assault and battery on the singer Rihanna) or DaBaby, rapper at the origin of a controversy after inexcusable homophobic remarks during a concert this summer.

Faith still lives in her

Rapper and fashion fan, the 44-year-old ex-Chicago kid has never hidden his faith. The titles of his albums speak for themselves, such Jesus (2013) or Jesus is King (2019), and he recently filed a lawsuit in a California court to change his name to Ye (in the Bible, Yes means “you”). On this new opus named after his mother who died in 2007, there is no shortage of texts combining preaching and sweet madness (“I talk to God daily, he’s my big mate” Where “I was for sale but I couldn’t tell / God made it rain, the devil made hell”.). When he does not address his Lord, the singer multiplies the references to his divorce (in progress) with Kim Kardashian.

Ace of waiting, king of the com

Many times announced and then postponed for a year, the release of this 10th album will have succeeded in surprising everyone, including the person himself. Supposedly, at least. A few hours after it was posted on streaming platforms, the artist accuses his record company, Universal Music Group, on Instagram of having released the album without his approval and of having cut off a title, Jail Pt. 2, which will eventually go live soon after. Kanye West had yet started the promo on July 13, 2020, on Twitter, by broadcasting an excerpt from Donda, the song (which has meanwhile become Donda Chant) who opens the album, where we hear the voice of his late mother.

Ego above all

Not content to spread about his break with Kim Kardashian, his love for God or fashion, Kanye, the other self-proclaimed “King of Pop”, had run for the last US presidential election after supporting Donald Trump in 2016. For this new album, Kanye West has sought to innovate again by organizing this summer three pre-listenings of Donda, in front of an audience, in stadiums. Real shows marked with the seal of his narcissistic excess (during the last, August 26, in Chicago, his city of heart, he had reproduced in the middle of the stadium a replica of the house of his childhood) and broadcast live by Apple Music, in which participated many distinguished guests, even the most sulphurous, present on the album.

Perpetual experimentation

Each listening offered a new version of the record where rap, soul and gospel of the third type intermingle, giving credence to the idea that his work is constantly evolving, never really accomplished. At the end of the Chicago event, Kanye West even had a temporary studio installed in the spans of the stadium, as if to complete the recording of Donda. Kanye West has become accustomed to this perpetual work in progress, already modifying songs after the release of his album The Life of Pablo, in 2016. Confusing opulence and excess more than ever, Donda, which runs over twenty-seven tracks and about two hours of music that fans haven’t finished exploring, is set to meet the same fate.

The Amazon Prime Video Ligue 1 channel has been broadcasting for almost a month. And she achieves an almost flawless broadcast. The room for improvement nevertheless remains enormous.

Sunday August 1, evening of great premiere for Amazon Prime Video Ligue 1. That day, the multinational broadcast the shock between PSG and Lille, kickoff of a 2021/2022 season which it won the essential of the broadcasting rights for the French championship (those that Mediapro / Téléfoot had abandoned along the way).

We could have feared a complicated baptism (remember RMC Sport) but the meeting was offered without a hitch.

A month later, Amazon Prime Video Ligue 1 is still there. In recent weeks, the platform has offered a total of 32 matches (8 per day) and there is not a shadow of a reproach on the horizon. Despite its status as a new entrant in a highly scrutinized market (because it is very popular), Amazon is apparently armed enough to stand up to the comparison with historical channels (Canal +, beIN Sports). And succeed where Téléfoot has seriously failed.

What goes with Amazon Prime Video Ligue 1

The editorial proposal of Amazon Prime Video Ligue 1 is clear: for € 12.99 per month (in addition to the Prime subscription), the football fan has access to 8 of the 10 matches of each day – in full (multiplex of their choice , Sunday at 3 p.m.) and without any advertising. To ensure quality coverage, Amazon has recruited big names – whether in comments, presentation or consultant positions (there is even Thierry Henry, who accepted a golden bridge for Sky Sports in 2014). This is a guarantee of quality, in addition to ensuring a certain legitimacy for the chain, which loves to provide platforms on the edge of the field (for more proximity to the stadium).

In doing so, the pre-match and the post-match are interesting to follow (and without advertising!), With a nice highlighting of the atmosphere – found – in the stadiums. For her or him, it is a real happiness. The concerned will even be able to discover new images: post-match training sessions, cameras closer to the players (in the corridor leading to the locker room for example), more live interviews, among other sequences than we see more rarely.

On outright broadcasting, we can highlight the very good production, dynamic as it should (we do not miss anything of the essential actions) – knowing that Canal + is recognized in this field (thanks to Jean-Jacques Amsellem). The display quality is also at the rendezvous: despite the absence of a 4K stream, the HD definition is of excellent quality (the image even seems beautiful as on Canal + and beIN Sports, with an equal definition) . There is also quick access to replays (including pre-match and post-match).

Finally, we have not deplored any bug since the launch of Amazon Prime Video Ligue 1: no black screen, no screen freezes, no unwanted interruptions… Sunday, August 29, Lionel Messi made his grand entrance with the PSG jersey on the back (facing Reims). And the channel brilliantly withstood this crash test, when we could have feared a fatal heavy crowd.

What’s wrong with Amazon Prime Video Ligue 1

Amazon Prime Video Ligue 1 imposes barriers for which some aficionados are not prepared. Those less tech savvy today can quickly lose track of how an application works. As a bonus, as we pointed out in a dedicated article, registering for Amazon Prime Video Ligue 1 is far from easy: there is the double subscription side, but also the dusty Amazon interface.

For regulars, it is easier to go to Darty to subscribe to Canal +, than to install an application. The list of compatible devices is immense (the FAI boxes are), but, for some, pressing the ‘4’ button on their remote control (Canal +) remains a reflex that is a little too anchored. In short, Amazon Prime Video Ligue 1 imposes a new routine that could be prohibitive for a less informed public. A simple solution would be to offer a linear flow – read: a channel – on all the boxes on the market (example: channel 67 on that of SFR).

The Amazon Prime Video Ligue 1 category is logically integrated into the Amazon Prime Video platform, which also gives access to films and series (the catalog changes every week). We have to admit that we are far from Netflix or Disney + ergonomics. Too dated, the interface is not a model of practicality and is not very pretty. It also lacks features: a goal alert on other matches broadcast at the same time (this is the case on RMC Sport) and an automatic channel change when the broadcast is over (rather than a simple message). Technically, Amazon still has areas for improvement.

Finally, there is the issue of broadcasting in 4K: Canal + has been offering sporting events with this quality for a few years now (Formula 1, football, etc.) while major competitions – Euro, World Cup – also benefit from it. It is a shame to see Amazon Prime Video Ligue 1 deprive itself of it, at least for its most beautiful posters (that of Sunday evening). It’s not a technological issue, rather a cost issue: some films are in 4K and HDR on its Prime Video platform. And that would be another great development for the future.

A 27-year-old young woman mysteriously disappeared on the evening of August 29 in Finistère when she left to take pictures of the sunset.

She was gone “take pictures of the sunset from the coast, in the area of Ty Mark cove, south of Tal ar Grip point, in Plomodiern”, reports the newspaper Ouest-France. Very quickly, significant resources have been deployed to try to find the young woman.

Most “lack of new element”, research has been suspended until further notice, the statement said. Each year in France, around 70,000 disappearances are recorded each year, according to the Wanted Persons File (FPR) of the Ministry of the Interior. Among these disappearances, 10,000 are considered worrying if the person disappears completely from radar screens: inactive phone, no banking transactions, no activity on social networks. If so for this young photographer and that she remains untraceable, the police will have to open an investigation for worrying disappearance.

Vincent Lagaf ‘is back on the small screen. It will be showing in the episode of Camping paradis, broadcast this Monday, August 30 on TF1. On the private side, the host divorced Véronique, with whom he stayed for more than thirty years.

Vincent Lagaf ‘ makes its return to television, this Monday, August 30, in an episode of Camping paradise, broadcast on TF1. The one who also officiates in Fort Boyard plays Jo, a friend of Tom, the main character played by Laurent Ournac, who lives complicated moments, especially with his son. If Vincent Lagaf ‘was able to have a rich career, it is in part thanks to his ex-wife, Véronique, whose life he shared for more than thirty years, before separating several months ago. Together, they welcomed Robin, in 1990.

In 2013, Véronique mentioned an arrangement that the couple had during an interview with Parisian. “It’s a tacit pact between us: Vincent is on the front of the stage, I take care of the rest. Managing daily life annoys him and he knows that I take care of it “, she had explained in the columns of the daily. Beyond managing daily life, Véronique has always supported her husband : Only I can tell Vincent, it’s okay or it’s not. For years, people laughed at how he dressed in colorful costumes. (…) It took me 20 years to manage to give it a little makeover “, had indicated the ex-wife of Vincent Lagaf ‘.

Why did Vincent Lagaf ‘not have the main role in Camping paradis?

With this role in Camping paradise, the host hopes that he will have “other opportunities to act”, he confided in Pocket TV. He also said that initially the series “had been written for me. I had to do it, and then, there was a scramble, and it is Laurent Ournac who got the role “. And to add: “If TF1 wants to give me the reins of a series, why not … But I do not especially want to disappoint the public.
