A wind of change is blowing on the French volleyball team. After almost ten years spent alongside Laurent Tillie, the new Olympic champions recently welcomed their new coach. At 62, Bernardo Rezende took over the reins of “Team Yavbou”.

“I saw a good person”

In an interview conducted by L’Equipe, Earvin Ngapeth talks about the arrival of the Brazilian coach he knows well. “This is the daddy of a very close friend (Brazilian international passer Bruno Rezende). Bernardinho was visiting him in Modena (Italy). In the last year (2017-2018), we had great discussions together when it was complicated with Stoychev, when it went nuts. I saw a good person. He told us to stay together, so as not to break the group, he insisted on protecting the players and that marked me. »

Change after Tillie

“He lives the game thoroughly with the players while Laurent (Tillie) internalized a lot, even if it could explode sometimes. In training it’s going really well, you can feel the Brazilian touch, the rhythm. This is exactly what we needed, after 10 years with Laurent where we were in a game of instinct with a lot of freedom and inevitably a little weariness in training, for us as for him. There, it’s really an electric shock, we needed that to start again, because at the moment, what is hard is not the physical but the mental one. “

Since the arrival of Bernardo Rezende, the players are mentally remobilizing to “Get back into mode of reclaiming a title”. “The day after his arrival and his first speech, we were no longer the same”, says Ngapeth who wants to progress “At the block and find regularity at the service”.

The subject remained muted for a long time. But menstruation is part of the life of women and therefore that of sportswomen. The first concerned feel, perhaps with the years or the discussions already started, that today, the taboo is dissipating. “That’s life, that’s how it is, everyone should talk about it freely. In any case, there is nothing to be ashamed of, ”begins Alison Peniguel, striker of En Avant Guingamp. “For me, it is not a taboo subject because it is interesting and above all important”, continues her teammate, also attacker, Louise Fleury. And in the Côtes-d’Armor, the subject is not taken lightly. It is approached with the players in order to adapt the work in the periods when the risk of injury is increased, according to their cycle dates. “We try, from an early age, to educate them,” explains Frédéric Biancalani, coach of the D1 Women’s football team. It is important that they understand that this is not something trivial. “

Since last season, prevention protocols have been put in place, with the aim, above all, of avoiding ligament injuries. “A little bit of strengthening, at the level of the muscles, to warn the body that things are going to be a little more complicated, but especially proprioception”, describes Louise Fleury. In the main Breton women’s football club, we talk about menstruation. But not necessarily in neighboring clubs.

Unanswered questions

At Brest Bretagne Handball, “we didn’t talk about it especially. Then a physical trainer decided to integrate it, ”says Alicia Toublanc, right winger. Last season, menstruation was taken into account in training. Except that in the offseason, the staff and the coach have changed. “And it is true that, for the moment, we have not yet been told about it. The Costarmorican feels above all a lack of information on the subject. “All the more so on the part of men because they do not know and, between quotes, it concerns them less, so they have to go and look for information. And if they don’t think about it, they can’t guess. “

A lack of information and tools which is also felt by Frédéric Biancalani.

What qualifies Gwenaëlle Madouas, sports doctor in Brest, more integrated in the world of cycling: “I think that in all the federations, it is the same contents given at the level of training. There is really a specific “feminine” part. She explains that she has seen more and more requests from coaches over the past ten years “whereas before, these were fairly closed subjects and the girls, seeing that it was not the coaches’ thing, did not talk about it. not “.

Things that remain however “overflown” to the taste of the one who has been at the head of the Guingampaises since 2018. Despite a lot of discussions with his players and no discomfort displayed in his locker room, he believes that “today, in France , we are behind in relation to certain countries or certain disciplines ”. A little sorry, he even explains “to do at least worse”. And for good reason, when Louise Fleury had concerns related to an IUD that she could not stand, no one was able to help her. “I took the pill and forgot it quite regularly. I went on a hormonal IUD and I couldn’t stand it at all. I had a lot of muscle pain, a lot of pain also in the lower abdomen ”. The striker therefore spoke to her physical trainer. Without answer, but still with her pains, she questioned the doctor of the France team, during a selection: “He told me that he thought that the best was to go see the gynecologist of the Insep (National Institute of Sport, Expertise and Performance, Editor’s note), who was used to athletes, and that she could perhaps enlighten me a little (…) Limit, I thought to stop protecting myself, but I told myself that it was my personal life that would have been impacted ”. And after this long journey, and having had his IUD removed, everything is better.

Male staff

Sometimes a little discomfort may remain, even in women who break the ice. “It’s true that, if I take my example, I would go more easily to talk to the doctor than to the staff. (…) I think I would feel more comfortable, ”says Alicia Toublanc. In male staff, some players believe that it is their responsibility to discuss it with their younger teammates. “This is exactly where the problem is with a man in a staff without a woman. They are very open, but it’s true that sometimes it’s easier for some to talk to a woman, nuance Louise Fleury. Now I am one of the oldest. We, the oldest, it is a subject that should be discussed with the youngest, because they do not talk about it ”.

And, unwittingly, discomfort still remains: “I take the example of when you are outside, with white shorts. It’s always “Oh, I’m checking…” “, concludes Alison Peniguel, who thanks to her change of contraception no longer worries about her periods.

For sportswomen, methods of contraception are changing

Mélina River

Over the years, contraceptives have continued to evolve: more possibilities, work on side effects … The goal is first of all to protect yourself but, for sportswomen, controlling the onset of their period can be a problem. more. So that they don’t happen during a match weekend, for example, by chaining several packets of pills.

Others turn to the hormonal IUD, a longer-term solution. “There are more and more girls who want it, already because they don’t have to worry about the pill, and because progesterone-based IUDs almost stop periods or very little. bleeding, ”explains sports doctor Gwenaëlle Madouas.

And, when it comes to changing contraception, practicing high-level sport can weigh in the balance. As Alison Peniguel, striker of En Avant Guingamp, who now has an implant, explains: “Before, I took the pill. Since I forgot all the time, I wanted to change. Football influenced this decision since having its rules in match weekends is quite unpleasant ”.

Many people decide to play sports to lose weight. However, some people gain weight as their training program progresses. According to an expert in physical activity, this trend is linked to a combination of factors.

It is necessary to watch your diet

Why do we sometimes gain weight after exercising? ” People don’t understand that exercising is good even if you are gaining weight Said Corinne Caillaud, professor of physical activity and digital health at the University of Sydney in Australia. The latter explains that exercise plays an important role in weight control, but we must not forget to take food intake into account.

It is necessary to consider the quantity and quality of food consumed by each person, since weight gain after exercising can be related to these factors. The physical activity expert explains that exercise is very unlikely to offset the effect of increasing the frequency of junk food consumption.

Other factors causing weight gain

If the diet does not change, the weight gain may be explained otherwise. When a person is not used to a strenuous workout, but persists in continuing, they end up straining their muscles too much. At this time, its muscle fibers suffer from micro-tears and the body automatically sends nutrients to the muscles to help them heal. This is why we feel muscle pain the next day. This leads to muscle growth over time.

However, these micro-tears can also trigger the inflammatory process in the body. In other words, they cause swelling. This swelling then causes additional water retention in the body. However, this increase in water may also explain the weight gain after exercise. Corinne Caillaud notes that this will not however lead to a significant increase in weight.

The latter adds that exercise, especially weight lifting, can lead to the development of muscle mass. This does require some serious training, however, and does not occur for several months. In addition, the amount of blood in the body can also be linked to post-exercise weight gain. In particular, during exercise, the blood may increase in volume.

In this sports Association, conviviality and well-being reign permanently. Sports Hall and of bodybuilding, group lessons of fitness, spa, Acquavital offers a range of activities to its members. “Following the first confinement, the sports association simply sank. I therefore volunteered to take over its management, remembers Sylvain Pelloux-Prayer, director and coach within the establishment. Today, we hardly have any more members. The room is empty, the group lessons are empty. These activities were on the rise, but there was a huge drag. The few remaining users are regulars. For two years, between openings and closings, people have never returned! We have killed the sport. “

During this summer season, he estimates to have lost at least 90% of his clientele. A little over a year ago, Sylvain Pelloux-Prayer took over the reins of the structure, but the results remain, for him, very mixed. “People are coming back to sport but slowly, he remarks. There is a large part of users who, today, do something else or who have dropped out because their habits have changed. We took a long time to encourage people to play sports, but it all broke the customer base. “

For this director, the recovery has never really been.

Despite an investment of several thousand euros in a ventilation system, this space of 370 square meters, equipped with about thirty machines and sports stations, is far from a full house. “There was never any contamination in the club, even at the time of the clusters in early July, which is positive, explains Sylvain Pelloux-Prayer. It proves that what we have put in place is working. ” Mandatory mask, hydroalcoholic gel, welcome gauge, distance, it does not compromise with health rules.

Develop healthy sport

The crisis has given rise to new trends, such as sport dedicated to well-being and health. The center has been able to adapt to demand. In particular, it plans to develop further around this type of activity. “We are focusing a lot on healthy sport because it has become a major concern, relates the director. These are activities that will work more and more. Before this crisis, it was mostly for older people but now it is for everyone. A lot of people come back for these reasons because they have realized the importance of sport. “

In addition to fitness, the sports association now offers Pilates, yoga and garuda classes. Practices that we now call “wellness”. Pilates helps to stabilize the spine but also to strengthen the muscles. This type of sport is accessible to everyone. Classes are limited to 10 people. In the long term, the objective of the center is to supervise people who suffer from long-term pathologies and who have been prescribed health sports sessions on prescription.

Sylvain Pelloux-Prayer recalls that beyond its physical benefits, sport remains important in maintaining social ties. “There was great psychological damage to those who had to stop the sport overnight, he observes. In winter, we are one of the few places where people of all generations can see each other. “ And this coach does not hide his impatience to find “a real associative life”. Acquavital is expected to revamp sporting events, including running and hiking, “to the extent possible”.

In this particular context, the emphasis is also placed on personalized coaching. A trend which has also developed strongly since the start of the crisis. “We already offer Pilates coaching in the studio but we are now going to extend to indoor coaching, underlines the director. There is a very significant craze for that. “

“We are all set”

The center has a spa area, massages and treatments. Services that complement the offer of sports activities relating to well-being. Over time, the four leaders of Acquavital are trained in new activities which are then offered to members. Usually there are around 250 regular users.

Despite a significant drop in attendance, Sylvain Pelloux-Prayer aspires to a return of customers during the month of October. “Everything is in place, everything is ready, he confides. We hope that people will regain control physically. We are still confident. The main feedback we have from the members is that they needed to think about something else. We are ready to welcome members with new challenges! “

Back to school is here with its share of novelties, large and small projects. Here are the 5 facts not to be missed!

1. First services for the school canteen in Montigny-lès-Metz

“All the children will be able to have lunch in their new school canteen”, rejoices Jean-Luc Bohl. This is the novelty of the return to Montigny-lès-Metz. The building on Chemin de Blory was inaugurated on July 7. Around 600 meals will be served there each day on two floors: one for kindergarten, the other for primary. The total area of the restaurant is 1,300 m². A space has been set up for children with autistic disorders. The site was financed to the tune of 2 million euros by the City of Montigny-lès-Metz. It lasted a year and a half. Children will be able to have lunch in one service, which will allow them to take their time.

2. The CO2 sensors are controversial

This is one of the hot topics for the start of the school year: the introduction of CO2 sensors and air purifiers in schools. Already made by the Prime Minister last April, this recommendation was again made by the Minister of National Education during his back-to-school conference. A formula that has not fallen on deaf ears. Parents, teachers and elected officials are naturally in favor. It remains to be seen how this measure can be implemented. Elected officials have already expressed this concern, starting with Patrick Abate, the mayor of Talange, who wrote a letter to this effect to the prefect of Moselle. “For a city like Talange, which has around thirty nursery and primary classes, the bill in 2021 amounted to more than 60,000 euros for the sole application of the various protocols issued by the Ministry of National Education. Mr. Prefect, on this subject of CO2 sensors and air purifiers, it would be useful for local elected officials to be precisely informed of what the Minister retains as a “relevant” criterion for installing a simple sensor or, which represents a much larger investment, a real purifier. It would also be useful for us to know how and to what extent the State will support us in these investments. “

As for the Region, Jean Rottner has already set aside a budget of 1.4 million euros for the implementation of this measure, but he wishes “to take the time to reflect, wait for the right data” before launching.

3. The Region will transport its students to vaccination centers

This info was delivered by Jean Rottner during a back-to-school conference organized on Tuesday, August 31. The president of the regional council expressed his desire to ensure the transport of high school students to the various vaccination centers in the territory “free of charge”. A service that will be covered in addition to the usual school transport. This system will be put in place after the start of the school year and will not follow the same rhythm everywhere. In large cities, for example, access to vaccination centers is easier. To date, the regional council does not have figures on the maximum coverage of high school students but it is established that a majority of 12-18 year olds have already received a first dose.

4. All the colleges of the Department switch to Led

This is one of the projects of the Moselle departmental council: the renovation of its colleges. Seventeen of them are said to be metallic and therefore need to be renovated. A recovery plan was adopted at the last quarterly meeting to allow the simultaneous realization of ten colleges. 162 million euros will be invested with five colleges delivered within five years. At the same time as this project, the Department has embarked on a shift of all its colleges to Led. Five were in 2020, 24 in 2021, the operation is continuing this year. A 58% drop in energy consumption has already been recorded.

5. A sport-study set up from primary school

A first sports-study class will be launched at the Camille-Hilaire de Queuleu school in Metz. A partnership has been established with the Metz Gym club. About ten children are affected by this novelty. Every day at 3 p.m., they will leave their class to go to train at the Arena. A first that has experience value. Usually, this kind of course is offered from college.

With Koné but Without Ferhat in Marseille. This Thursday morning, the Crocos were in training before going tomorrow morning at 11:30 am to the Robert-Louis-Dreyfus training center to face Olympique de Marseille in a friendly match. A meeting in which Zinedine Ferhat will not participate. The Algerian international was not seen in the morning collective training just like Sidy Sarr who trained alone on a secondary field. The physical trainer, Aurélien Boche, working alongside Elias Mar Omarsson, who will not make the trip to the Bouches-du-Rhône. On the other hand, in addition to Karim Aribi, the Nîmes staff can count in attack on the return of Moussa Koné. The Senegalese trained with the group this morning and should find some playing time. For this match, Pascal Plancque is also private, as since the start of the season for Anthony Briançon but also for the four internationals: Per Kristian Bratveit, Naomichi Ueda, Andrés Cubas and Mahamadou Doucouré. To complete the squad, the coach called on three young players from the reserve team: goalkeeper Pierre Rothacher as well as midfielders Marc Jourdan and Marowane Khalid.

The group selected for Marseille: Dias, Rothacher – Philibert, Zaïdan, Burner, Paquiez, Martinez, Guessoum, Sainte-Luce, Jourdan – Delpech, Valerio, Fomba, Ponceau, Benrahou, Eliasson, Khalid – Aribi, Koné, El Ftouhi.

Guigou absent. To end its summer preparation, USAM left this afternoon by bus to Limoges to face Nantes tomorrow at 6 p.m. and Montpellier or Limoges on Saturday (4.30 p.m. or 6 p.m.) depending on the results of the semi-finals. For these two meetings, Franck Maurice has called 16 players including youngsters Damien Gibernon and Guéric Vincent. Three pros are missing: Rémi Salou, Romain Tesio and Michaël Guigou. The triple gold medalist at the Olympics feels pain in the hamstrings. He should resume training at the start of the week and be operational for the reception of Saran, next Sunday at 3 p.m., at the opening of the championship. “It’s good that this tournament is played in a big hall with people against two Champions League level teams, plus a team which is looking to qualify for Europe this season. We have no questions to ask about investment and concentration to have “, comments Franck Maurice about this last friendly meeting. The Usamists will then have two days of rest before attacking the home stretch on Tuesday and the resumption of the Starligue.

The group that left for Limoges: Desbonnet, Paul; Gallego, Poyet, Jakobsen, Dupuy, Nyateu, Acquevillo, Hesham, Minel, Tobie, M.Salou, Gibernon, Vincent, Rebichon, Sanad.

Vranjes to replace Maurice? If the Nîmes coach still has two years of contract with USAM, management would consider replacing him at the end of this season by Swedish coach of Serbian origin, Ljubomir Vranjes. His name had already been mentioned last season on the side of Limoges before the club denied. According to our information, President David Tebib would have requested the former triple center-half European champion (1998, 2000 and 2002) and world champion (1999). If nothing has yet been formalized, a Scandinavian media announces that a contract has been signed. As a coach, Vranjes won the Champions League with Flensburg, in 2014, when he was voted best coach in the world, as well as four German cups. After the selection of Serbia, he went through Hungary and the Veszprem club. Currently, the 47-year-old still wears Slovenia’s managerial cap, but returned to Kristianstad’s managerial cap last June. The Swedish club came to win (25-24) at Parnassus last season in the European Cup before a draw on the return leg (30-30). If the discussions were to be successful, Nîmes would switch to another dimension with a coach recognized at the international level. At the head of the Green team since 2015, Franck Maurice allowed USAM to return to the European Cup after 25 years of absence, to reach the final of the Coupe de France in 2018 and to finish third in the league. during the 2019/2020 season.

The sports sections of Andelys (Eure) will make their comeback Saturday, September 4, 2021 on the occasion of Sport my health.

Absent in 2020, this event, which is usually held in May on the banks of the Seine, returns to the site of the Henri-Boyer gymnasium.

Daphnée Lefèvre, coordinator of the Education and Sport department, explains this choice.

With Sylvain Villa, we’ve been thinking of changing places for some time. The Henri-Boyer gymnasium site will allow us to use the dojo and the sports platform. It’s a test.

And Cédric Toutin, the new sports director added: “It is also less material to carry. The Roger-Gaudeau college has three table tennis tables at our disposal ”.

About thirty workshops

Raymond-Phélip Street will be secure and closed to traffic.

To check the health pass that must be presented at the entrance, visitors must go through the reception.

They will be given a roadmap that will have to be presented at the various workshops.

Around thirty workshops will be offered throughout the day. Among the novelties, note the presence of the CSA Pétanque, the CSA Motor Club, which will present a sidecar and probably the Château-Gaillard car team and the Rallye Coeur de Lion.

Two new sections in the process of being created will also be involved: wrestling under the aegis of Val de Reuil Olympique Lutte and CSA Gymnastique. A space will be dedicated to toddlers aged 0 to 3 years old.

Associations

Association of independent childminders approved by Andelys (AAMIAA), Aviron Club Andelys Tosny, Athletic Club Andelysien (athletics), CSA Handball, CSA Gymnastics, CSA Football, CSA Judo, CSA Cycling, CSA Pétanque, CSA Rugby, CSA Full contact, CSA Motor Club, CSA Escrime, CSA Table Tennis, CSA Basket, CSA Mini Auto Club Andelysien (model making), CSA Archery, Volunteer Gym, Taekwondo, Club Andelysien de Baseball et Softball, Les Andelys Tennis Club, Val de Reuil Olympic Wrestling, Château-Gaillard auto stable, Lionheart Rally, firefighters and Rhythms and Leisure.
Health workers: naturopath, alternative medicine, magnetiser, Interprofessional of the fresh fruit and vegetable sector (Interfel) and Mutualité Française.

Work in schools

The health component will be represented by professionals in alternative medicine, naturopathy, yoga as well as firefighters. A board games area on health will also be available to the public.

Sport ma santé is the conclusion of the work carried out by Daphnée Lefèvre in schools.

For Marcel Lefèvre and Jean-Pierre Blanchard, she led nutrition sessions one to two per month, which brought together sports activity and diet. “We carried out physical activity but also awareness of screens and dietetics”.

Smoothie bike, climbing tour and zip line

On the entertainment side, young and old can try their hand at the smoothie bike. This consists of pedaling to mix the fruits before being able to taste.

Children in need of thrills will be happy. A climbing wall and even more a tower to climb with a 100-meter zip line which will start at a height of 6 meters.

16th Sport ma santé, Saturday September 4 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the site of the Henri-Boyer gymnasium (opposite Roger-Gaudeau college). Free entry. Health pass, wearing a mask and respecting barrier gestures.
