Responsibilities

Hearing the Voice is a large interdisciplinary research project, based at Durham University and funded by the Wellcome Trust, which aims to provide a better understanding of what it is like to hear voices when no one is speaking. The Communications, Impact and Engagement Lead is responsible for developing and implementing a strategy for engaging voice-hearers, clinicians and other non-academic audiences in Hearing the Voice research locally, nationally and internationally. This includes working with external stakeholders such as NHS trusts, mental health charities and advocacy groups like the Hearing Voices Network, Voice Collective and Intervoice in order to identify opportunities for effective partnership, co-ordinating the project's participation in cultural and literary festivals, and developing and implementing a dissemination strategy for films and other arts related projects linked to Hearing the Voice research.
