New Appointment of Professor of Global Health Policy

Ted Schrecker

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Professor Ted Schrecker to the position of Professor of Global Health Policy at Durham University.

Professor Schrecker takes up his post on 1 June and will be located in the Centre for Public Policy and Health in the School of Medicine, Pharmacy And Health on Queen's Campus. 

Professor Schrecker is currently Clinical Scientist at the Bruyere Institute in Ottawa, and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Community Medicine at the University of Ottawa, Canada. He has published widely on global health issues.

His research and teaching interests lie in globalisation and health; neoliberalism and its impact on population health; health ethics and policy; and the political economy of health and the social determinants of health. These are all interests shared by the Centre for Public Policy and Health which is also affiliated to the Wolfson Research Institute for Health and Wellbeing. The Centre conducts research and teaches in public health policy and management, decision-making and policy implementation, inequalities in health, and the health effects of public policy.
