Postgraduate taught applications by gender

The number of applications for postgraduate taught courses has remained at the same level from male applicants, however, we have received a sustained and consistent growth in female applications since 2011/12. This, combined with a higher rate of offers to female applicants, has led to a large growth in females enrolled on postgraduate taught courses by 2011/12 - 2019/20.

For postgraduate research applications, we have received a sustained growth in application numbers from both male and female applicants in the period 2011/12 - 2019/20. Female applicants have had a consistently higher offer rate, and a slightly higher take up rate for final acceptances.
