Respect: creating a place where we can all flourish

Student data

The data presented here charts Durham’s student population over the past five years (2015/15 to 2019/20) by ethnicity and gender. The data is shown for all students, and for undergraduate and postgraduate populations independently. They highlight the growth of Asian and Minority Ethnic cohorts at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well as the notable rise in the proportion of female postgraduate students. The data on ethnicity has been split into Black (includes mixed Black categories), AME (Asian and other Minority Ethnic groups) and White.

Ethnicity: All students

We have achieved consistent and sustained progress in the proportion of AME student numbers, however, we have seen a reduction in Black students over the past five years since 2015/16.
