A Respect Oversight Group is currently being established to oversee the recommendations of the Respect Commission Report. It will consist of representatives from key staff and student groups, as well as members of the Commission to ensure consistency and transparency across the process.
The Oversight Group will oversee the delivery of all aspects of the Respect Commission’s work over the three year implementation period, and will report annually on progress to University Executive.

Key Commitments Moving Forward
- Regular and effective communication between and amongst the Oversight Group, University Executive, strategic Equality, Diversity and Inclusion leads and the wider university community of staff and students.
- Raise awareness of changing attitudes and behaviours, creating a culture of respect for all.
- Recognising the role and responsibility individuals have in upholding a culture of respect at Durham.
