Yuanxing comes from China. She received her undergraduate degree in Translation Studies with distinction in 2017, and was awarded her MA degree in Comparative Literature from UCL in 2018. She attended English Department, Durham University as a full-time PhD student since 2018, supervised by Professor Stephen Regan and Professor Mark Sandy.

Yuanxing’s doctoral research focuses on emotional echoes and intertextuality of Romantic poetry and nineteenth-century American poetry. She is especially interested in Romantic and Victorian studies. Her master dissertation investigated two of Charles Dickens ’most famous novels from ecological perspectives by finding out how natural, social and spiritual ecology are reflected and how they relate to one another in his works.

During her undergraduate study, she was awarded first class scholarship and China National Scholarship four times. Currently she is the recipient of a CSC Doctoral Award (2018-2021).
