Personal Statement

I commenced employment within the Physics Department in July 1974 as a Trainee Laboratory Technician. I then went on to work within the first year laboratories as a Technician, later moving to the Solid State Research Group for a number of years before returning to the Teaching Laboratories. I also worked for Prof D Hampshire for 1 year on the Furakawa Wire Project, and assisted in the set up of the PPMS room.

Currently I assist in the day to day running of the Level 3 Teaching Laboratories. This involves providing technical support for undergraduates and academic staff through all terms and bridge projects . Outside of term I continue with level 3 lab duties as well as providing support to the department when needed.
