To develop and construct complex and precision apparatus for teaching and research; to provide mechanical engineering support to teaching laboratories and research groups within the Department of Physics.

Personal Statement

I completed 12 months training at South West Durham Training school. From there I joined The Fin machine company, as an apprentice before I joined Durham University. I began work within the Main workshop of the Department of Physics in 2002. After a period of training, and day release study at New College Durham, I became a qualified technician in 2005.

I have been health and safety representative for Unite the Union since 2011.
