Biography

After graduating from King Saud University (KSU) with a BA in Arabic/English Translation Studies, I worked there as a faculty member for two years before having a scholarship to continue my higher studies. I moved to Durham, one of the world's top universities, to complete my MA in Translation and Interpreting studies. Shortly after completing my MA, I chose to pursue a PhD in Legal Translation at Durham University.

  • The Sociology of Translation.
  • Translation and Comparative Culture Studies. 

Qualifications:

  • (2005- 2010): Bachelor Degree in English Language Translation, at College Of Languages and Translation – King Saud University, KSA with honours degree.
  • (2008): A Certificate in French Language, Level one, from The Saudi French Centre, Riyadh.
  • (2013-2014): Masters Degree in Arabic/English Translation and Interpreting, at The School of Modern Languages and Cultures – Durham University, UK. 

Work Experiences: 

  • (2011- Present): Teacher Assistant at The College of Languages and Translation (COLT), English language department – King Saud University. 

Activities: 

  • (2009) Participated as an organizer in the second Academic symposium, COLT, King Saud University.
  • (2009) Participated for The Ministry of Culture and Information in the 2nd Child’s Cultural Festival.
  • (2010) Translated part of the "Autism: A Very Short Introduction" book by Uta Frith, issued by Oxford University Press, from English language into Arabic language as a graduation project and earned A+.
  • (2011) Assistant supervisor of The Administrative and Academic Affairs of Arabic Wikipedia.
  • (2011) Translated and edited documents for The Translator's Club- COLT.
  • (2012) Translated for Al Nahda Organization.
