Biography

Michael joined Durham University Business School as a Teaching Fellow in Economics & Finance in 2012. His main research interests lie within the fields of Behavioural Finance and Investment Strategy Performance. Currently, his research projects include looking at psychological barriers in gold prices.

Before joining Durham University Business School, Michael worked as a lecturer in economics and finance at University College Cork, in Ireland, and also spent time as a research intern with the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI) in Dublin and as a junior trader with Bank of Ireland Global Markets in Dublin.

Michael is currently Course Director for the BA Business Finance at Queen’s Campus and teaches Foundations of Finance on the programme. He also teaches on two masters programmes in Durham, namely Derivative Markets and Advanced Financial Theory. Michael has also previously taught Microeconomics, Advanced Microeconomics and Economic Data Collection & Analysis at University College Cork, as well as supervising thesis students on the MSc in Financial Economics there.
