This paper investigates the ultimate capacity of suction anchor foundations, using an ad-vanced constitutive model. The paper explores the effect of changing the aspect ratio of the caisson on the undrained load-carrying capacity of the bucket foundations in clay. Illustrative numerical results for inorganic clay of low sensitivity from the Norrköping region in southern Sweden demonstrate the potential of the con-stitutive model.
