Ethics Advisory Committee
Ethics Advisory Committee is a joint governance committee of Senate and Council. It is chaired by the a lay member of University Council. It has overall responsibility for setting out ethical standards and assuring that University activities are undertaken in accordance with them. Day to day responsibility for ethical review of research and for the implementation of processes is devolved to the Faculties and ultimately to Departments. Faculty Ethics Committees
Each of the Faculties has a Faculty Ethics Sub-Committee which manages much of the assurance of departmental activities and their co-ordination.

Project level approval and review is undertaken by Departmental Ethics Committees.
Animal Welfare Ethical Review Board (AWERB)
AWERB is reponsible for review of all work involving animals. It is chaired by the University Secretary as University License Holder. Please see below for further information regarding AWERB.
