30th August - 1st September 2011
An opportunity for postgraduates to present their research and meet others in the field of Quaternary science in a relaxed and friendly environment.
The conference will be structured around four broad themes: palaeoglaciology, sea-level change, palaeoclimatology and geoarchaeology/landscape evolution. Each theme will be introduced with a keynote address from a member of Durham's academic staff, before the floor is opened for postgraduate presentations (N.B. postgraduate presentations will be attended solely by postgraduates). A poster session will provide an opportunity for further discussion of current postgraduate research areas.
The conference will be hosted by the Geography Department at Durham University, in the North East of England, a spectacular cathedral city with an amazing heritage. Narrow cobbled streets wind their way around the rocky peninsula to the majestic Norman cathedral and castle, a designated World Heritage Site.
