Welcome to the Postgraduate Module Handbook. The Postgraduate Module Handbook includes the programme frameworks for all of Durham University's postgraduate degree programmes with taught components, so that you can check: which modules are compulsory on your programme; whether you have any optional choices; and if you do have optional choices, how many you have and the extent of the choice open to you. To view the framework for your degree programme, use the Programme Search facility below.
Programme regulations should be read in conjunction with the Core Regulations for Postgraduate Programmes.
The Postgraduate Module Handbook also contains descriptions of all the postgraduate modules offered by the University, including the content of each module and how it will be taught and assessed. To access information on individual modules, you can either use the Module Search facility below, or you can click on the module code (e.g. COMP40615) in the framework for your degree programme. If you are looking for modules outside of your degree programme, you can also use the departmental module listings to access every postgraduate module offered by the University, by department. Please ensure you check the module availability box for each module outline.
Please note: the module and programme information here is for current modules and programmes. Modules and programmes do change year-on-year, and are amended to take account of, for example: changing staff expertise, disciplinary developments, the requirements of external bodies and partners, and student feedback.
