Introduction

1 lecture in Michaelmas Term

Organisation of the module; how the electronic question bank works; drop-in workshop arrangements; assessment arrangements. Attendance at this introductory lecture is compulsory.

Drop-in workshops

18 optional sessions in Michaelmas and Epiphany Terms

These provide an opportunity to discuss the Mathematics underlying the online problems by direct interaction with the module leader.

Group Problem Solving

Weekly one-hour workshops in Epiphany Term.

Syllabus: Students will be divided into groups to investigate practical problems requiring the formulation of mathematical models. Composition of the individual groups will be publicized around the start of Epiphany Term.
