The conference will take place over two locations, both situated in the heart of Durham, and only a minute walk from each other. The locations are roughly a 15 minute walk from the train station.

There is a large car park in the centre of the town, just off Market Square, and park and ride schemes available. There are many taxis available from the station, and there is also a ‘Cathedral bus’ that takes you directly from the Railway Station to the Cathedral, which leaves at 10, 30 and 50 minutes past the hour for a nominal fee of 50p, and is situated next to both conference locations.

The Philosophy of E. J. Lowe: A Memorial Conference

Sunday 27th July – Tuesday 29th July

Professor E. J. (Jonathan) Lowe (1950-2014) spent the last thirty four years of his life at Durham University, during which time he established himself as one or the world’s leading metaphysicians and inspired philosophers all over the world. This conference was a fitting celebration of his life and work with philosophers from around the world coming together to discuss various aspects of Jonathan's work.

The conference commenced on Sunday 27th July, 2014 with an opening lecture and several short speeches. Over the course of Monday and Tuesday there were eight papers by invited speakers and papers by some current postgraduate students and recent PhD graduates.
