Coaching Conversations

Sam Patterson is an external coach and training specialist and will deliver a workshop to support managers to develop their coaching skills and confidence to embed a coaching approach when working with their staff and their teams.

Heather Munroe is an external trainer and coach and will deliver this online workshop which will challenge assumptions about what we actually mean by leadership (who are the leaders anyway?) and defining compassion. Confident Wellbeing Conversations for Managers

Dave Algeo, external trainer, speaker and coach will deliver this session to equip managers and team leaders with an appreciation of the benefits of having wellbeing conversations, provide a practical structured approach to managing the interaction, and recognise what signposting and/or referral may most be appropriate. Dealing with Conflict

Sam Patterson, coach and training specialist will deliver this workshop to support Managers to develop their own resilience while also supporting their team. The Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service (ACAS) will deliver this course covering ways of addressing sensitive subject matters like bullying, emotional issues, resistance to criticism and poor performance. Leading Hybrid Teams During Change

Craig Smith, founder of Flint Spark Consulting will deliver this workshop to look at ways to lead people through change (and in particular the impact of the pandemic) and to deal with change from a perspective of emotional leadership rather than managing tasks. Managing Performance

Andrew Scott, external faciliator and coach will deliver this two-part workshop, on completion of this course it is expected that participants will be able to:

  • Explain the importance of performance management in the context of Durham University
  • Establish the conditions in which effective performance management is more likely in terms of culture and relationships
  • Support, develop and reward good performance
  • Address poor performance and inappropriate behaviour
  • Ensure due process is observed and proper documentation maintained.
