Senior Leaders Induction Programme
The Senior Leaders Induction programme is for academic colleagues who are to become Head of Department and professional services leaders from all Faculties and Divisions with a strategic leadership role (generally at grade 9 or 10). Examples of relevant roles include (but are not limited to): Heads of Department, Faculty Managers, Divisional or Deputy Divisional Heads, Executive Deans, Deputy Deans and Research Institute Directors. The programme consists of 3 elements:

The strategic induction consists of 4 half days and will be delivered online from 28th June - 1st July covering the following areas:
- Role of the Durham Senior Leader
- Strategic Planning & Strategy Delivery
- Global Strategy
- Human Resources & Organisation Development
- Colleges, Student Support & Wellbeing
- Health & Safety / Estates and Facilities
- Equality, Diversity & Inclusion
- Education Division
- Managing Research Activity
- Advancement & Communications
- Digital Strategy.
As a senior leader, organisational knowledge will be needed to understand the wider context of the University. This modular programme, taking place from July - December 2021 is expected to incorporate the following areas.

Know Self - Completion of Durham University Leadership Attributes 360° Feedback Tool, facilitated feedback session and follow-up development plan discussion
Manage Self - The opportunity to work with an external Executive Coach for approx. 6 months.
