The Careers, Employability and Enterprise Centre ( can provide support to research students and staff. All of the services provided by the centre, including vacancies and placements, employer networking events and presentations, skills workshops and enterprise development, are accessible to researchers. The Careers Centre also employs a Postgraduate Careers Adviser who is a dedicated point of contact. The Careers Centre is located on the ground floor of the Palatine Building and researchers are welcome to access the careers resources that are available.


The Library provides dedicated services to support postgraduate researchers, including an Academic Liasion Librarian for Researcher Support, and training and guidance for publication, finding and managing information, and bibliometrics. All of the University's postgraduate students are members of the University's Graduate School, which supports postgraduate education across the University.

Times Higher Education Awards

Durham University has won a prestigious national award for its work supporting young researchers. The Outstanding Support for Early Career Researchers award was presented by the Times Higher Education magazine at its annual award ceremony in London.
