New Warden of Cranmer Hall takes up her post

The Bishop of Durham, the Rt Reverend Tom Wright has licensed Canon Anne Dyer as the new Warden of Cranmer Hall, in St John's College, Durham at a special service attended by her family and friends from all over the country to celebrate the official start of her ministry.

Professor Stephen Sykes, Principal of St John's College and the former Bishop of Ely, preached at the Service and welcomed the new Warden into her post, highlighting the increasing importance of theological education at all levels within the Church and community.

Canon Dyer (46) succeeds Dr Steve Croft as Warden of Cranmer Hall, the Theological College within St John's which trains men and women for ministry in the Church of England and works closely with the Methodist Wesley Study Centre and the Roman Catholic College at Ushaw. Cranmer also offers an increasingly wide variety of courses to other groups - such as the highly successful MA Course which has seen record numbers enrol.
