All of Durham University’s subjects are ranked in the UK’s top ten according to the 2015 Complete University Guide. This secures Durham’s position as one of the finest all-round universities in the country, delivering excellence in education and research across all its disciplines.
The Complete University Guide 2015 places Durham as the leading University in the UK in terms of proportion of its subjects (100%) ranked in the top ten in the country. It is the only University to achieve this result.
In addition, all but three of Durham’s 22 ranked Departments/Schools offer courses ranked in the top five in the UK.
The Complete University Guide, which ranks 123 British universities named Durham as the country’s fifth best university overall for the fourth year running.
Durham is also ranked among the world’s top 100 universities and is in the top 25 globally for employer reputation when it comes to the quality of, and demand for, its graduates.
In the Guardian University Guide 2015, Durham maintained its top ten position, with 12 subjects appearing in the top five and 18 subjects in the top ten. Performance in entry standards and graduate employment was also strong, alongside high levels of student satisfaction.
Professor Chris Higgins, Vice-Chancellor of Durham University, said: “This is excellent news for the University, we are enormously proud to have every single subject we offer at Durham ranked within the top ten in the UK, with the vast majority in the top five.
“Our performance in the Complete University Guide confirms that Durham is amongst the top broad-subject universities in the country, and indeed the world.
“Durham students in every Department benefit from having excellent teaching delivered by some of the world’s finest researchers across arts and humanities, the sciences and social sciences.
“This is complemented by our collegiate system that allows students to develop key skills valued by leading employers including leadership, critical thinking and entrepreneurship through academic-related and extra-curricular activities in sports, the arts and outreach.
“The distinctiveness of this combined education makes our graduates some of the most sought after in the world.”
