College Festival of Sport Online
(29 June 2020)
On Sunday the 21st June this years College Festival of Sport was run as a virtual event. The week leading up to the event students had the opportunity to enter a number of competitions being run online.
The top 5 placed students or teams won points for their college in the overall Festival of Sport table. A judging panel of four Team Durham staff members came together on the morning of the event to judge the entries. There was some incredible submissions and it was great to see students getting involved.
As part of the Festival of Sport a number of colleges got involved in a Durham Question of Sport. This competition saw teams of four students from each college compete against each other to find out who had the best all round sporting knowledge. The Semi-finals and Final, hosted by sporting legend Steve Cram, were all extremely close. Collingwood College and Grey College missed out on making the Final as they lost to Hild Bede and Stephenson in the Semi-finals. Stephenson went on to take the trophy after winning the tie break question.
By the end of the day, after all the results had been decided, Hild Bede took the top of the table will 50 points, closely followed by Stephenson College in second place and Grey College in third.
Congratulations to Hild Bede for winning the College Festival of Sport 2020!! And well done to everyone who took part!
