Biography

Miss Weng obtained her MSc. in Scientific, Technical and Medical Translation with Translation Technology at University College London in 2014. She completed her undergraduate study and was granted the degrees BA in Linguistics and Sociology and BA in English (Translation) by the University of Manchester and Sun Yat-Sen University respectively. Before undertaking her PhD programme in Translation Studies at Durham in 2017, she worked as a business account manager at Microsoft China and as a freelance translator for 3 years (2014-2017). 

Miss Weng is conducting her research on how stress affects the translation process and product from the behavioural, psychological and physiological perspectives with methods such as eye-tracking, key-logging and Galvanic Skin Response (GSR) etc. She is interested in the application of psychological and physiological methods in empirical translation studies.
