Topological Solitons Seminar: Geometry of Periodic Monopoles

Presented by Rafael Maldonado,

11 December 2013 13:00 in CM219

I will introduce BPS monopoles periodic in one spatial direction. The parameters and moduli of the solution will be discussed, with reference to the spectral curve. I will show how to compute the metric on the moduli space from the Nahm data, and illustrate this by showing some symmetric geodesics. Results are consistent with the expected limits of large and small monopole size to period ratio.
