All Library sites have laptops that you can borrow and use within the Library for up to four hours. Laptops are issued with power packs, which must be returned with the laptop.You can also borrow mini-mice and headphones for use with laptops from the Bill Bryson Library. Laptop loans operate on a first-come, first-served basis.
Laptops cannot be renewed online, but may be renewed at the Help and Information Desk, if there are other laptops still available for other users.
Like other Library items, laptops should be returned to the Help and Information Desk within the 4 hour borrowing period. There is a £1 charge per item per hour if the laptop and charger, or mouse and headphones are returned late.
The following software is currently available on laptops:-
Microsoft Office, SPSS, Adobe Reader X, Quicktime, Windows 7 environment with J: drive and university printing access.
In the Bill Bryson Library, laptops and netbooks can print to Level 2 print station wirelessly. Printouts can be collected at the print station which is part of the Level 2 search area.
