Most large publishers let authors deposit the final accepted peer-reviewed manuscript of their journal article in DRO. Few publishers permit the final published version to be used unless an Article Processing Charge (APC) has been paid.

Details of publishers' author self-archiving policies can be found on copyright agreement forms, licences and publishers' websites. These policies should make clear where authors can deposit their papers (eg institutional repository, subject repository, personal web page) and which version can be used (eg final accepted peer-reviewed manuscript). Look for details of embargo periods too - usually between 6 and 24 months.

NOTE: You can deposit your manuscript once it has been accepted - the DRO Team will apply any embargo.
