University Library

Information skills

We are here to assist you with your research skills whatever your current level of skills, regardless of whether you are a new undergraduate, researching for dissertations or theses, or academic staff starting on a new research project. Please consult our research skills guides on the right to help you effectively use the Library's resources.

For particular advice on resources and services applicable to you, please refer to our pages specifically for current students, researchers or academic staff. We also have pages listing particular services for part-time students, distance learners, disabled users and visitors.

New student support

If you are new to the University or the Library please have a look at our support for new students. We have online advice on how to effectively search the library catalogue and other resources, as well as a range of library tours so you can become familiar with the library.
