Boards of Studies

1. Boards of Studies are responsible for "the planning of appropriate programmes of study and the organisation and implementation of effective teaching" and for "the proper conduct of those programmes of study for which it is solely or jointly responsible" (Standing Orders for Boards of Studies).

Education (EC)

2. The Education Committee is responsible for the formulation of University policy and guidelines in the area of programme review and monitoring and for overseeing the implementation of these policies and guidelines. It is assisted in the discharge of these responsibilities by the Faculty EducationCommittees and other sub-committees.


3. The Senate is "the supreme governing body of the University in all academic matters" and has the specific responsibility "to regulate teaching". (University Statutes)
