How to arrive

Airport advice

When coming to Durham, most people choose to fly to Newcastle International Airport. This is the largest airport in the area and is approximately 30 minutes away from Durham. You may not be able to get a direct flight to Newcastle, but there will be many connecting flights from various airports in the UK.

If you arrive at another airport, you can book a train from that airport to Durham Rail Station: Please note that if you are required to Quaratine (self-isolate) for 14 days you should not use public tranport and instead a taxi should be booked.

To get through airport immigration as smoothly as possible, we recommend that you carry a copy of all of your documents with you. Documents include: visa information, flight information, your letter of confirmation from the University.
