We are based in the Caedmon Building on the Hild Bede Site.
By car: Leave the A1(M) at the junction with the A690 and follow the signs for Durham city centre. At the first roundabout take the second exit (signposted College of St Hild & St Bede and dead end). Follow the road straight down the hill to the Lower Car Park (Visitor’s Car Park). You do not need a permit but should put a note on the windscreen that you are visiting the Institute for Medical Humanities.
By train: From Durham train station, take a taxi or walk (head towards the cathedral then follow the directions below, approx. 20 minutes).
On foot: There are many routes you could take, but the most pleasant is to follow the riverside path east from Durham city centre. Follow the signs for the cycle path 14/70 to Sherburn/Sunderland. Just in front of the Hild Bede Boat Club (HBBC) shed turn left, go through the gate and follow the path up. The second set of steps brings you to a covered walkway between two buildings. IMH is on your right.
