Reformation Studies Colloquium 2012
OUTLINE PROGRAMME NOW AVAILABLE
The Reformation Studies Colloquium will be held at St. Chad's College, Durham, from 4-6 September 2012.
For more than forty years, this biennial conference has been the UK's leading forum for studies of the history, theology and culture of the Reformation era in Europe, including the British Isles.
The plenary speakers at the 2012 conference will be:
EUAN CAMERON (Union Theological Seminary, New York): ‘The Reformers as historians: making meaning for the Reformation in world history’
MERRY WIESNER-HANKS (University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee): ‘Gender and the Reformation in Global Perspective’
PETER MARSHALL (University of Warwick): ‘The Origins of the English Reformation reconsidered’
Over 50 shorter communications by speakers from 10 countries will also be offered. The final programme for the conference is available below.
Thanks to the generous support of the Royal Historical Society and the Economic and Social History Society, we are able to offer some contributions towards the travel costs of postgraduate and unwaged participants presenting communications at the conference. To register for this please email Alec Ryrie [firstname.lastname@example.org].
EUROPEAN REFORMATION RESEARCH GROUP
As in 2010, the Colloquium will be held in conjunction with the annual meeting of the European Reformation Research Group, an informal conference with a particular emphasis on postgraduate and junior scholars. ERRG will meet at St. Chad's College on 3-4 September. A discount is available for those attending both conferences.
