Barbados High Commissioner to St Vincent and the Grenadines begins maritime boundary discussions
(17 April 2015)
Recently accredited Barbados High Commissioner Robert Morris has initiated discussions with St Vincent and the Grenadines to negotiate a maritime boundary treaty. Mr. Morris, who also serves as the Barbados Ambassador to CARICOM, was appointed to the High Commissioner position on 7 April by Prime Minister of Barbados Dr. Ralph E. Gonsalves.
A delegation headed by Mr. Morris engaged in preliminary discussions with maritime officials in St Vincent and the Grenadines to establish a maritime boundary treaty. Dr. Gonsalves noted that a negotiated treaty would allow closer cooperation with St Vincent and the Grenadines, one of Barbados’ most important allies.
