The Scale of Things: public lecture series

Each year the IAS organises a public lecture series relating to the Institute’s research theme, aiming to deliver an exciting and stimulating series drawing a wide range of speakers and researchers to Durham and encouraging wider public engagement with the work and ideas emerging from the IAS.

This year’s IAS series will offer insights into Scale from a range of disciplinary perspectives. Speakers in the series include among others Professor Mark Pagel FRS (University of Reading); Professor Stuart Elden FBA (University of Warwick); Professor Jussa Parrika (University of Southampton); Professor Andres Lepik (Technical University of Munich); and Dr Karen Johnson (Durham University).

These lectures are free and open to all. The series will be held in the Ken Wade Lecture theatre at the Calman Learning Centre (except for the lecture taking place on 6th March which will now be held in the Kingsley Barrett Room, Calman Learning Centre). For directions see this linked Map . The Calman Learning Centre is denoted as building number: 43. For further information contact the IAS (enquiries.ias@durham.ac.uk).
